The Dawn Treader is a 2005 fantasy adventure film directed by Mike Newell, screenplay by Peter Cornwell, and produced by Andrew Adamson, with a story by Cornwell. It is the second installment in the Chronicles of Narnia film series. The film stars Mike Newell, Brendan Gleeson, Mark Gatiss, Kristin Scott Thomas, David Thewlis, Ioan Gruffudd, Douglas Tait, and David Bradley.

The film tells the story of the Pevensie children, Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace, who while on a voyage with Eustace's uncle King Caspian and Eustace's cousin King Balin, are shipwrecked on Narnia. The children enter Narnia through a stone arch when a pegasus named Reepicheep arrives, telling them that it is their duty to restore the Stone of Tumnus, which is the source of the magic in Narnia. When the Stone is restored, Edmund is separated from the others and becomes the new King Under the Mountain. Caspian and Balin are then betrayed by the traitorous King Miraz, who brings the Pevensie children's ship the Dawn Treader to his capital city of Calmar. Edmund's escape from Calmar is complicated by the treachery of Miraz's daughter Queen Susan and Caspian's son Prince Rilian. Edmund and Lucy vow to make Miraz pay for his treachery. The last part of the film sees Edmund and Lucy's old friend Puddleglum and the evil King Miraz's son Tirian, who has also been stranded on Narnia, fighting in a duel to the death. The duel is interrupted by Susan and Rilian, who swear to avenge the death of Miraz.
