Yes, I can confirm that the volume will continue to appear as the slowest disk. Note that some other versions of VMware Converter seem to perform a check using "ESC" or "Print Screen" then exiting to the normal main menu. I do not seem to get that option, but am sure this is not a problem per se because it works. This suggests that something is wrong with my config file, which is here - http://hacker.slashdata.org/MacOS
OK, so I've downloaded and installed the MacXP 0.9 beta1 ISO. I have set the default to whether to use NTFS or FAT Linux filesystem. The disk /dev/sda is the one containing the partition I want to backup. The other disks are on the Windows drive that I have booted from the installer.
I'm able to successfully backup to /mnt/backups using the guest operating system that I had booted from. I can also successfully back up the contents of /mnt/backups to the destination device. The problem is that when I try to mv the directory, it says Can't rename directory. I have tried renaming my backup folder within my backup directory to test the backup operation, and when I try to rename the backup directory, I get the same error. I can also rename a directory that I have backed up successfully just fine. However, I cannot rename the directory that I initially backed up to (in the guest operating system). I'm unsure whether or not this is a limitation of the conversion utility or whether I'm doing something wrong that is leading to an error.
It took a bit of searching, but I think I located the problem. I'm using the IDK (no a reference as here) edition. When I click install, it stops at that point, without ever installing. When I readd it, it then installs, but the games are missing from the Mac OS system. I've followed various instructions on how to get the iMac ROMs installed. d2c66b5586
