I also found a new advantage when using the new Affinity Designer in that you can now open PSDs and vector format files when you are working in the full screen mode. This lets you see the layers and see what you are working on. It also makes editing in the full screen mode much easier.
The second is that you can create your own brush. Go to the new brush tab. Pick an image from your machine that has a good brush and click on the edit button. You will get a dialog box that lets you edit the brush. Change the radial direction, pressure, size, shape, number of stops, etc. Then click on the save button and save it.
I can't remember what version of Photoshop 6 it was that I got in a Parallels VM. It's a lot slower than the CS6 that I'm using on my iMac. I'm wondering if Photoshop on the Mac might be as good as CS6. Anybody have experience with this?
On the Mac Pro, Photoshop CS6 doesn't seem to recognize my FireWire 800 as an external drive. This is a drive that did work. Not sure if I've missed something or if there's something I need to do to it to get it to recognize it. I'm not sure if it will work in Parallels or if I need to enable it in the mac.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if there will be a daily build or something. Hopefully with the new Mac Pro at some point I'll be able to run CS6. I certainly can't afford it if I can't run it.
I have an old 2008 MacBook Pro with OS X Snow Leopard and I have the latest version of Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows 7 installed on it. I have the latest updates for the Apple SMC and Intel video chipsets.
Finally, I imported a few layers into InDesign (CS6) and have been working on it in there as I have no need for CS6 yet. I also have an InDesign folder in the InCase folder. I have disabled the InDesign folder in the case and will assume the file is safe.
I don't think this is an error though, as I was able to install CS5 in another account when I tried. Maybe I have a conflict with something somewhere? Or did you get any errors when you installed CS6?
Is there a way to download CS6 for Mac? The download area only has CS5. I tried to install CS6 from the installer, it seems to have taken the serial number and I can't register a copy of Photoshop.
I created a separate partition on a MacBook Pro SSD and installed CS6 on it. I then made sure to add that separate partition to my Time Machine backup. That way my CS6 files are safe from Parallels install and OS X install. 827ec27edc
