Switching to the LaserCut page you will see a new "Switch to New Desktop" button on the TWINMATE Menu (please see the image below). Now open the Desktop Software from the folder where you installed the desktop SW and choose from a list of the default configurations it supports. The default is Windows 7/32 Bit.
On the Laser Cutting page, look in the Graphics workspace and edge button top right. You will see a pop up menu that gives you the option to draw a line tool or a hyper loop tool. Both function the same way.
The edge tool can be used on any workspace and if you're creating your first file it can be used as your default edge tool. If you want it to act like the line tool just click it and it will change to the line tool.
This is an example of me drawing a rectangle in the DOS session. Once you have made the edge you want to put in your design, it's then easier to check what's next and can be dragged around without a hitch.
Even better, If you have access to premium members only documentation, including the step by step install documentation for each board, the trial tool can be downloaded directly from their website. So you can download the trial version and use the trial tool as you wish, and if the trial version doesn't work for you, you get a full installation file.
Lasercut 5.3 is optimised for Windows 7. Window 8 has a handy feature which allows it to act like Windows 7 for software that is optimised to run on older systems. To run Compatability Mode open the LASERCUT53 folder which you will find in the route of OS (C) drive. Right click on the Lasercut53 icon and select TROUBLESHOOT COMPATIBILITY.
We would usually wait 30 days for feedback on new releases, but as the Usual Suspects team are busy supporting hobby and private users, we are just keeping an eye on things. If you are an artisan or a designer and would like to upgrade your LaserCut board or shift to CanvasWorkspace, please write to us at support@ubaldo.net detailing the software used, the board, and the software version. d2c66b5586
