According to cosmetics pro Nevine Meisler, all skin needs is some light protection. Cover the face with a translucent powder to prevent sun damage and use a matt powder in the neck and chest to avoid high-gloss skin that catches the light and looks shiny. Mothers whose 10-year-old daughters are teased about being too overdressed should keep an eye on their child's face. That early introduction to European fashion will fade by the time the teenager scales the Tower of London with a group of brazen teens.

Long ago, any old costume would do, but the new costume demands the new equipment, and that includes the latest cosmetics.
