You can restrict a user from updating their own profile, as well as from setting their own greeting in posts. You can also choose to allow them to be able to edit anything in posts, essentially giving them full editing control.
You can also choose to restrict specific capabilities to specific user roles. For example, you might decide to make certain moderators be able to delete, ban, delete posts, and edit posts, but restrict other users from those permissions. You can also choose to allow multiple users to edit posts, and just choose 2 of those editors to have even more permissions.
See how many users you have in the main panel. If you have more users than the number of available roles plus the role you are currently assigned, you will see a pop-up asking if you would like to assign more roles to those users.
This modifies multiple user roles by adding them to a role you specify and removing them from the existing roles. To do this, select the user role you want to add two or more without removing them from the existing roles, click Add Role(s) and then Add User From Role.
This modifies the capabilities multiple users have by adding them to a role and deleting them from the existing roles. If you do not want a group of users to have a specific set of capabilities, you can remove the capability from all roles except the selected role like this.
This modifes the capabilities multiple users can access by adding them to a role. You can assign these to a role with multiple users, as a global role, or you can assign them to every user you own. In all three cases, the role will be available to everyone who has the role or any of its sub-roles enabled. d2c66b5586
